I first met Muneerah and Joseph while I coordinated a Wedding at the Westin Colonnade. They passed by to look at the set up, as they would also be getting married there a few months later. Joseph mentioned his interest in bringing someone aboard to help his fiance with the Planning. I thought that was sweet! I gave them my business card, heard from them a few weeks later and we started working right away!

I truly enjoyed working with Muneerah and Joseph. They're laid back, always open to opinions and just totally in love! They chose to go traditional and opt-out of a First Look to make the Ceremony that much more special. Their Big Day flowed smoothly and went without a hitch. Take a look:

Miami Wedding Planner: Vendor Meals

Wedding Vendor Meals. In true tweet peep terms, this is a trending topic. I know a lot of Brides have questions regarding Vendor Meals so I wanted to give you some insight on this like I did on my post about Tipping Vendors. I'll share my take based on the norm and general rules of thumb. This is not necessarily the right or wrong way.

|Who to provide Vendor Meals for|

As a Wedding Planner, I recommend providing a meal for any vendor that you hired to work during the Reception. The common professionals are your Photographer(s), Videographer(s), DJ or Band members and Day-Of Coordinator(s) -only if you have hired your own (I hope you did and I will tell you why shortly). These are usually the vendors present during Dinner and it is nice to offer them something to refuel. After all, most of them are with you at least from 6-10 hours that day and the last thing you want is your photographer passing out and missing a shot of you and your hubby 's sparkler send-off. Right?

|Hot Meals|

A term you will probably hear when discussing vendor meals is "hot meal". This refers to a hot Entreé rather than a sandwhich and chips for Dinner. Most vendors request this in their Contract nowdays. Read your Contracts thoroughly so you are fully aware of what you agreed to provide and make arrangements with your Venue or Caterer accordingly. Just to clarify, the hot meals that your Venue or Caterer offers may not necessarily be the same choice as your Main Entreé. For example, if you are doing a 4-course meal and your main entreé is Lobster or a Surf & Turf duo, your vendor meals might be a chef's choice of Chicken Entreé. This will vary based on the Venue or Caterer specialty. Rule of thumb is providing the same type of meal for all vendors.

|Vendor Meal Pricing|

Something that most Brides don't know when they start Planning their Wedding is that vendor meals are priced different than regular guest meals.They are usually discounted by Venues and Caterers, mostly for the reason I explained above. Current prices range from $25 - $50 in the Miami Wedding Industry, depending on the type of meal and Venue or Caterer. Be sure to consult about pricing and menu choices for Vendor meals with your Venue or Caterer.

|Timing|

This is an aspect of the Wedding where having your own Wedding Planner or Day-Of Coordinator really pays off, among many others. But since we are talking about vendor meals, I will stick to the topic.

I'm particularly meticulous when it comes to ensuring that my colleagues are taken care of, and many can attest to that. As a professional myself, I know the Day-Of gets pretty hectic behind the scenes. We are all a team and our common goal is to produce a seamless and successful Event for you, the client.

I make arrangements so they are provided with a hot meal and I'm adamant about trying to get them served at the same time that the Bride & Groom are having Dinner. Some Venues and Caterers don't understand the reason behind this, but it's pretty simple. If you and your vendors eat at the same time, they will be up and running when you finish, which minimizes the possibility of missing a candid moment. Please ask your Venue or Caterer to honor this request. Side note: Guests don't feel comfortable having their picture taken while they are eating. That's why this is a great opportunity to utilize this time for vendor meals.

When vendor meals have been served after all guests, I've had Bride & Grooms walk into the room and pull out a photographer while eating to capture something that just spontaneously happened.

|Location|
As far as where vendors seat for Dinner, most prefer a location in near proximity to your Reception so they can still be aware of what's going on but have a bit of privacy to take their break. That is ideal. I personally think sitting with guests might make for an awkward moment, not only conversation wise but also because the menu usually differs. On another note, keep in mind that your Venue will charge for each place setting, chair (chivary or cover) and if you have to do an entire vendor table then tablecloth and centerpieces charges apply. I really think the first option is the most comfortable for vendors anyway.

|Not providing a Vendor Meal?|
If you are not providing a meal for your vendor, they may have stipulated in their Contract that they will have to leave the Reception to purchase a meal elsewhere. Some vendors have added this clause to their Contracts because believe it or not, it has happened. I agree they are entitled to. Most venues prepare for meals based on the final count you give them the week-of not "A-la-carte"so if you didn't arrange for them, chances are they won't be able to accomodate last-minute requests. Therefore, the only option left for the vendor is to leave the premises to purchase a meal nearby.

Just as everything else in life, I think courtesy goes a long way! It's also important to to make sure your Vendors are working in the most accomodating environment so they perform at their best and in return, this will benefit your Event and eventually the products and services being provided to you.

Handbag Love

I had been looking for a new handbag. You know, with Fall being finally here, a girl deserves to wear something new for the season, right?

I'm not the type of person that changes purse everyday. I just don't have time for that. I usually choose something big enough or comfy enough that I can use on a daily basis. I had seen this Big Buddah satchel (Mia) in The Oprah Magazine and fell in love with the look. Isn't it fabulous? I had to have it.

So, I began my search. I went into different stores trying to find either the same one or at least something with a similar design. I also didn't want to buy any purse just because it was black or popular. I wanted it to feel like me. And this was it.

I grew frustrated after a couple of weeks of coming up empty handed. I had come accross some that looked like it, but I either didn't like the material or the design didn't thrill me. Don't you hate when this happens? You're looking for something and you just can't seem to find it. I sort of gave up. But Rod would soon change that.

I longer have to keep lookin'. My awesome hubby bought it for me this past weekend and I couldn't be more excited!!! Kuddos to Rod for knowing how to please a wife. After all they say, "Happy wife, Happy Life", right? :)

Movies and Social Media

Rod & I are huge movie watchers. I mean, huge. We either make it a Blockbuster night at home or a date night at the movies. Either way, we love to keep up with the top box-office hits. I had seen previews of The Social Network - the story behind Facebook - and knew we had to watch it, specially with all the buzz it has created.

So, on Saturday after a much-needed shopping spree with my mom, I told Rod that I wanted to go watch it. He looked up the next showing time and just like that, we were at the movie theater munching on curly fries and hot dogs.

You are not alone .... I, too, am addicted to Facebook!! There, I said it. It has become the best way to keep up with family, friends and c'mon let's admit it, we all love going through people's pics and find out who's on their friend list, etc.

We enjoyed the movie! It's engaging and keeps you interested. It has a bit of comedy and drama and the story line was great. Overall a great film. I think it's mind-blowing how a genious idea has truly changed the world we live in. To some for good, to others not so much. Facebook can become a tool or a nightmare, depending on the way you choose to use it.

I'm still learning about social media myself and I think we will just never be able to catch up. There's always something new and someone coming up with a new idea that tops the one you're starting to get used to. Did you watch The Social Network yet? What did you think?

Riverside Hotel Ft. Lauderdale Wedding: Christina + Rob

Christina & Rob tied the knot in a beautiful Outdoor Ceremony overlooking the river. Their Wedding was perfection. Really, it was. The day went without a hitch
and mother nature blessed us with beautiful weather.

As a Wedding Coordinator, I'm used to dealing with 'challenges' -as I like to call them- on the Day Of.
But on this day everything went as planned and everyone exceeded Christina & Rob's expectations. My timeline was running smoothly throughout the day and the result was a Bride & Groom that truly enjoyed every moment of their Big Day along with family and friends. The way it's really supposed to be.

The decor was exquisite. Every detail from the Ceremony to the reception was flawless thanks to the designs from Gil Sosa and his team. I've been very fortunate to work with amazing professionals in the Miami Wedding Industry lately and this event was no exception.

Pakland Golf & Country Club Wedding: Alissa + Serban

y I had the pleasure of coodinating Alissa & Serban's Wedding on Saturday Fabruary 20th, 2010. The Ceremony & Reception took place at Parkland Golf & Country Club, a beautiful location with lots of scenery that make for great pictures. The Ceremony was followed by a fun-filled Celebration to the sound of Mike Sipe's Pure Energy Band.

Alissa and Serban said their vows sorrounded by their closest family and friends. The weather could not have been more perfect! Alissa and I were crossing fingers that her outdoor Ceremony would come true and it did.

Westin Colonnade Coral Gables Wedding: Dalie + Mike

Dalie & Mike tied the knot at the beautiful Westin Colonnade in Coral Gables on Saturday February 13th, 2010. They had a lot of out of town guests and their trip to Miami was threatened by the huge storm happening up north, including the groom. Fortunately, everyone was able to make it to the Wedding and the re-routed flights were all worth it.

Dalie was a trooper during her Planning process, she was a frequent flyer and would make short trips to Miami and Boston, or 'marathons' as we knew it, to check things off her list. This really paid off as she and Mike were able to enjoy their Wedding day among family and amazing friends.

I was really looking forward to this Wedding because Dalie had put together a great team of vendors and that's always a recipe for success. Thank you to all of the following profesionals who made this possible.

This particular Wedding was kind of a first for me. I'm used to working directly with the Bride who is very involved in planning her Wedding. This time, I was in luck because I had the opportunity of working closely with a very crafty and hands on Mother of the Bride.

I met with Tara (Bride) and her mom, Terry to go over her wedding plans. From there on, I dealt mostly with Terry as she was taking care of all the details that went into her daughter's Wedding and really put her heart out to make it as beautiful as she deserved it. And so it was!

Tara and Joe got married at the United Methodist Church of South Miami. The Ceremony was really special as the Pastor was Joe's own grandfather, who did an amazing job at personalizing it. The Reception was held at Killian Palms Country Club, where I had been just coordinating another Wedding just a week earlier.

The inspiration on the details was drawn from Tara's gorgeous Wedding Dress that was crystal beading all over. The following pictures are the few I was able to take, I'm hoping I can get some Pro-pictures from Montalvo Productions, who provided Photo & Video services.

The tables Numbers were made by Terry, Mother of the Bride, to match the design of the Wedding Invites.

Terry also made purple napkin rings from with crystal accents.

Cocktail Hour was held in the Terrace where Montalvo Productions was taking pictures of the
Guests by the Gazebo that would be printed out during the Reception for them to take home as favors.

They opted for a Seating Chart rather than placecards and it was displayed during the
Cocktail Hour as well as the guestbook and cardbox.

Inside the Ballrom the sign-in table displayed picture frames of
the happy couple growing up and Engagement photos.

Party Time DJ's provided the Entertainment for the night and they were a real crowd pleaser.

They had a beautiful 5-tiered Wedding Cake.

After Dinner, they had an Ice Cream station in the Terrace as a treat for their guests.
And the rest of night was fun and everyone had a great time.

The newlyweds left the Reception in Joe's truck decorated by their closest friends. :)

Tara & Terry, it was a pleasure working with you towards this beautiful Wedding. Despite the challenges faced during planning, the Wedding turned out just as you envisioned it. Congratulations Tara & Joe!!!

Killian Palms Wedding: Michelle + Alex Part 2

Michelle contacted me back in April after I had been highly recommended by 2 great friends, Karen & Gladys, who I met while I was planning my Wedding (Thank you ladies!). We chatted online and Michelle hired me on the spot. From there on, it was such a pleasure working with her. We met for the first time when we did our walk-through and had so much to talk about! She will be moving to Prague, where Alex is currently stationed, right after the Wedding.

Michelle & Alex exchanged their vows at the beautiful small chapel of Sunset Congregational Church on Saturday 12.12.09. It was a very intimate Ceremony performed by Reverend Danny. He mentioned that Michelle & Alex were the first couple in 47 years to get married in December at the Church and the Congregation offered a beautiful ornament for them to place it on their 1st Christmas tree. This really made the Ceremony that much more special.

After the Ceremony, their 60 guests headed to the Reception held at Killian Palms Country Club. The room was glowing with all the beautiful decor and amazing Centerpieces all DIY by Michelle. Her colors: purple, blue, silver with white and black really looked well together and the votive candles set a romantic mood for the reception. The Wedding Cake by Divine Delicacies tied it all in.

Michelle & Alex are a laid back couple who wanted to be sourrounded by their closest friends and family on their special Day. They were introduced by Michael Jackson's "Don't stop 'til you get enough", danced to "Baby I love your way" and cut their cake to Adam Sandler's "I wanna grow old with you", which is a first for me :). Everyone enjoyed themselves on the dancefloor all night long!

I also had the pleasure of working with the talented Joseph Casal, who did an amazing job capturing the day as it happened. I have to say that he is the first photographer ever to send me exclusive teasers the day after the Wedding. This really shows how well he works with colleagues and such a dedication for what he does. Thank you Joseph!!! For the first time, I don't have to use my not-so-good-quality pictures. :)

The Spanish Monastery Wedding: Farah + Randy

arah & Randy tied the knot at the Spanish Monastery on October 25th, 2009. They had a Spanish themed Wedding and all their guests raved about the Decor and Flamenco Performance during dinner.

Farah was great to work with because she is very meticulous and great to communicate with. We must have exchanged countless emails for the short time we worked together. She made sure I had all Contracts right away and we were great at getting everything in writing to avoid issues arising the Day of the Wedding. This was a big factor on the success and smoothness of the night. Plus she hired very reliable professionals, which only makes my job that much easier.

We were analizing the company business plan and goals at the end of Stylish Events first Anniversary and decided that a re-branding process for Stylish Events was in order. We wanted our Brand to reflect what this company is really all about. Stylish Events is a Boutique Wedding Planning & Coordination company designed to assist the Chic, Savvy Bride; therefore our new look is clean, fresh and modern.

CEREMONY

The Ceremony overlooked the lake at Isles of Bayshore in Cutler Bay. Tammy envisioned this beautiful Huppah with Chandeliers and it turned out beautiful. Landy's Flowers by Gerardo did a great job assembling despite the wind.

Tammy also ordered white lanterns that adorned the aisle and lit her way to the altar.

The Centerpieces complimented the Reception Decor. They consisted of gold candelabras with all white hydrangeas and white roses. They were raffled to the guests at the end of the night playing "Who knew more about the Bride & Groom".

Tammy & Yosbanis hired a Samba Dancer to get the "La Hora Loca" started and everyone loved it!People were wearing guajiros hats, beads, maracas, you name it.

After that, it was time for Tammy to toss her bouquet...

Their guests sent them off with sparklers at the end of the night.

Q & A: Should I hire a videographer?

One of the most common regrets Brides usually have post-Wedding is not having hired a Videographer.

I'm gonna tell you why.

I find that when Brides are building their Budget Spreadsheet (you do have one, right?), they budget for

Photography but often forget to include Video because:

a) They don't think they need one (after all, you did splurge on your Photojournalistic Photographer),

b) They don't want one (at the moment) and

c) "I'm only gonna watch it once and then put it away".

Yes, you do keep your pictures. You stalk your Photographer's Blog for teasers while you are Honeymooning and then anxiously wait for your album. But, after the Wedding most Brides feel it's all a blur and you'll want to relive your Wedding Day over and over again. Your pictures are a great way to capture your Day as it happens, telling the story through candid shots.

Video is a whole other way to relive your day, almost literally. You get to see everything that happened that day LIVE, even things you didn't get to see. For example, after your Ceremony you took Formal Portraits with your family and your Videographer captured your guests mingling in your Cocktail Hour, signing your Guestbook and taking funny pictures in your Photobooth. They're so much going on that it's virtually impossible to be everywhere as much as you sink in every moment.

So, let's revisit the 3 reasons, shall we?

a) They don't think they need one.
Consider if you want to relive your Day through beautiful still pictures only. If you are 100% sure you do,
then you might not need a Video. Keep in mind that you may feel completely different when the Wedding is over and there's no going back.

b) They don't want one (at the moment).
Usually, what happens is that you don't budget for Video at the beginning and by the time you realize that you do want one, it's too late. You didn't leave any wiggle room for "extras" and you're already over budget as it is. This is when you either end up with no Video, or can not afford the quality you really want.

c) "I'm only gonna watch it once and then put it away".
This one makes me laugh. There is NO way, you'll watch your Video only once and then put it away. From what I hear, it gets watched at least 3 times a day when you have Wedding Planning withdrawal. You watch, pause, you analyze the details that you planned so hard for 1 year. Another thing to remember is that, even if you're not a fan of Video, it is a nice memento to have for your kids of your Wedding.

It's always better to safe than sorry. If you budget for Video since the beginning, you'll have nothing to worry about. If along the way, you decide you no longer want it there's always something to use that money for. The problem lies when you don't account for it and are left working wonders to squeeze it in. Worst case scenario, at least have a Videographer to capture your Ceremony. This is what the day is all about, you and your fiance uniting in Marriage and saying your Vows to each other.

Stylish Events: How did you and Yosbanis meet?

Tammy: We met at a Party on the Last Weekend of Summer 2000. At first I wanted to have the "just friends" relationship but after a few months of him pursuing me and I saw he began to speak to other girls I came and snatched him right up! hehehe...

S.E: How long was your Engagement?

T: We have been dating for about 10 years and "officially" got engaged on March 10, 2009. Although we always knew we would get married we placed other priorities such as purchasing our first home and finishing college before getting married. Now we are ready to tie the knot~!

S.E: Tell us about your First Date

T: Our first date was to the Movies to see "Hallow Man" . As soon as the movie was done Yosbanis encountered some car issues and told me we had to go to his house to pick up the spear key, since his car was at the mechanic. I was like " oh..no...another loser!" But sure enough he was far from that.. the following day he came by my house to take me to the mall and he was in his car, his gorgeous Red 2 seater sports car that had been at the mechanic for a tune up on the night of our first date.

S.E: How did he propose?

T: We had been secretly saving for a wedding but there was just talk of it, but since he knows how picky I am, went shopping for rings for the future and I feel in love with my 1.5 carat white gold princess cut ring and knew I had to have it. So we placed it on hold. One random day after works he asks me to go out to eat at our favorite restaurant " Bahamas Breeze" little did I know the WHOLE restaurant knew he was going to proposed with my favorite dessert! After dinner he had the chef bring my dessert and around the edge of the plate 3 chocolate hearts were drawn with the famous 4 word "Will You Marry Me?" by the time I looked up Yosbanis was nervously taking our the box with my ring I had fallen in love with and on 1 knee. As soon as I said yes the whole restaurant cheered and we were happily officially engaged ♥

S.E: What has been your favorite aspect of Planning?

T: Everything about it! I love planning, researching and negotiating good deals. I loved meeting the people I met and learning new ideas and things in the wedding industry. But my favorite part of all was seeing my friends and family offering help to make sure my wedding is successful. Also MY BACHELORETTE PARTIES!! ( 1 in Miami and 1 in the Bahamas) Now that's Celebrating Big!

S.E: Dish some of your Wedding Details

T: Ceremony would take place outside in front of a beautiful Lake under a white linen chuppa with white roses and hydrangeas, with 3 white crystal scroll chandeliers.
Cocktail will be a poolside candle light 30 minutes with live violin musician playing classical music while guest sign the guest book and enjoy cocktails.
Reception will take place inside a beautiful Spanish style clubhouse elegantly decorated with white tall floral arrangements and lots of ivory candles.

S.E: Finish this sentence: "I can't wait 'til my Wedding Day..."

T: to be Married in the Eyes of God to my Best Friend... Share the celebration with the people that love us and wear my pretty Piccione Bridal dress ♥

S.E: Give one piece of advice for recently engaged Brides

T: Enjoy every moment of your wedding planing process... Yes its very stressful, but hey you need to enjoy it because its a wonderful experience.

Today marks the first day of the Breast Cancer Awareness month. As a healthy woman, I strongly believe in supporting the cause because this terrible disease can happen to anyone from young, beautiful women to amazing ladies like our moms or grandmothers.

Fortunately (and I'm truly grateful), I have not lived it first hand not even through close friends or relatives.
Nonetheless, that is not a reason why it should be ignored. I encourage all of you to be a part of this cause by supporting it in any way possible!

As Brides, you have the opportunity to help someone who suffers from Breast Cancer while you find your dream Wedding Gown. This is something you all look forward to and part of your Wedding Checklist anyway. You can realize your dream and make someone else's come true altogether. Brides Against Breast Cancer Foundation hosts Gown Sales Events to raise funds. This non-profit organization works with Making Memories Foundation to grant wishes to those losing their battle against Breast Cancer.

Miami Wedding Planner: Tipping Vendors

To tip or not to tip? Or Who do I have to tip? or better yet Why do I have to tip {I'm already spending $$$ on my Wedding Vendors}? These are the most frequently asked questions I get from my clients. There is a lot of confussion between what Etiquette dictates and what each Bride feels they should do.

Let's clear something up first though. Do you have to? No. You are not obligated to tip anyone unless it is spelled out in the Contract such as the service charge on your Catering Contract that is usually a percentage of your Total Balance.

Now, let's discuss some facts.

TIPS, as it was referred to before stands for "To Insure Prompt Service". When people first began to tip, they would do it before the service was performed as an incentive to deliver exceptional service.

TIP: a small present of money given directly to someone for performing a service or menial task.

Gratuity. It spells out exactly what tipping is all about. Tip is a voluntary gesture to show gratitude and to recognize those vendors who have provided outstanding service and gone above and beyond for you.

My Expression

I'm sure you have heard the following: Wedding vendors who provide a Service rather than a Product should be tipped. For example: a DJ provides Entertainment/Music, this is considered a Service; a Linen company that rents Tablecloths & Napkins provides tangible Products. In addition, out of those vendors providing a Service, you should tip those who do not own the Company providing such service. Based on the exmple, if your DJ is not the business owner he should be tipped.

Still, I suggest handling tips on a case-by-case basis. If you strongly feel that you want to reward a certain vendor who exceeded your expectations, wether it's the business owner or providing a product, you can do so. People always want to go by the rules and forget that Weddings should be about themselves and represent who they are. If you feel like doing something from your heart, go with your gut feeling.

Remember when your Florist threw in your toss bouquet at no charge? How about when your Catering Director added an hour of Open Bar? Or when your DJ set-up a couple of extra Lights so you Ballroom can glow even more? You don't have to tip. But, keep in mind those vendors who go the extra mile {when they don't have to} to make your Wedding Day better than you envisioned.

Thank You cards are very appreciated by Wedding Professionals, I have my fair share blooming in a Board above my desk. It's makes me feel awesome when my Brides take the time to write a note after all the Wedding fuzz is over!

Coral Gables Marriott Wedding: Mayda + Lester

Love Story

Mayda & Lester's story is not your typical "Love at first sight", "High school sweethearts" or "Introduced by mutual friends". They actually met when and where I met my husband, Rodrigo. For those of you who don't know the story, it briefly goes like this: One night of November 2004 my sister, my mom and I decided to stop by the Nicaraguan Festival and Expo at the Tamiami Fairground. We stood in a crowd to listen to a music band that was playing. Lester, Rodrigo and a friend were standing right in front of us, and we could not see the show so they offered us their spot and we switched. Then, Lester starts making conversation with my mom and she finds him to be a well-mannered young man. He asks my sister to dance and then we all engage in general conversation.

At the end of the night, they ask for our number and my mom decides to give them our house line. The rest is history. Many things obviously happened and here we are almost 5 years later, both of us married to these awesome guys that we never expected to meet that night and who we blew off several times :/. Life is beautiful and brings blessings along with it in perfect timing, sometimes you just don't realize right away.

The Planning

When they got engaged in May 2007, Mayda and I started brainstorming ideas for the design of the Wedding. She knew that she wanted a Garden themed Wedding but specifically envisioned something Elegant and Classy. Well, let me tell you it was all that and much more. She picked the colors Hot pink and Lime green and we got busy planning right away.

I wanted them to have their Wedding at an exclusive place (since I have been to many Venues already), somewhere that was not popular and definitely had no multiple Ballrooms. I found the perfect spot in August of that year, when they inaugurated the Courtyard Marriott of Coral Gables. The place was a hotel of another chain before but it had been completely renovated and had this modern vibe and clean look that I just loved. I took them for a walk-through and they were sold! They were actually the first ones to book a Wedding at the Hotel since its opening. The Hotel offers the option of having your Ceremony in their Poolside Deck on the 2nd Floor and they loved the idea of an intimate Ceremony, so they booked that spot too.

We had lots of fun putting all the details together. Fortunately, Mayda was a very open-minded bride when it came to fresh ideas so this made that much easier. The design could not have come together as beautifully without the participation of so many wonderful Vendors (Listed at the bottom of this post).

THE WEDDING
Now on to the fun part, Mayda & Lester's Wedding. May 16th, 2009 finally arrived. My beautiful sister had the most amazing night of all times! She really sunk in every moment of the day and looked radiant all night long.

Here is a scoop of the Ballroom transformation, as it has become Stylish Events Blog signature:

Ceremony

That week, the weather had been pretty scattered showers and the day of was no exception. It was raining on and off, and the Ceremony had to be moved inside the Ballroom due to this issue. We tried our best to make it look beautiful inside and with the pink lighting, everything was glowing and the room looked very whimsical, actually. Mayda & Lester were not too happy about this, but once the Ceremony was over they expressed how much they loved the way it turned out.

A Bamboo Huppah was custom built for Mayda & Lester's Ceremony. It was the focal point of the room and it was draped with white sheer linens. White chivari chairs with hot pink cushions and lime greem bows were set-up in semi-cirle on each side of the room. In the aisle, a personalized Aisle runner with their monogram. Since the Ceremony was supposed to be outdoors in the heat of Sout Florida, Mayda had also made personalized Water Bottles for their guests.

Sign-in Table
The Placecard display was designed to display the Garden theme with a bed of wheatgrass where the White place cards were displayed. We also wanted to incoporate a hint of the design into the place cards so we bought plain white ones and decorated them with light pink flowers on the corners for contrast. A leather picture album of Mayda & Lester's Engagement session was displayed in the Sign-in table for guests to check out their shots and write a message for the happy couple.

Reception

The pink lighting had the Ballroom glowing beautifully and it added such an ambiance to the atmosphere. The tables stood out with vibrant Lime green Dupionui table cloths and hot pink satin napkins. The chairs used at the Ceremony were re-arranged for the Reception and all the Spring lively colors had a dramatic contrast. The Centerpieces consisted of round Cylinder vases topped with pink roses, white hydranges and curly willow. One hydrangea and crystal pebbles were also place inside the Cylinder to avoid an empty look.

The favors were cute green boxes that close with petals flaps on top. We added a round tag with Mayda & Lester's monogram and tied it with a pink ribbon. They were perfect!

On the dance floor, a GOBO with the Mr. & Mrs. name and Wedding date was displayed. Behind the Sweetheart Table, Mayda wanted to have draping so we custom built it for her Reception as well :) to help her stay within her budget. It definitely added Elegance to their spot and looked amazing with the Uplighting.

Cake

Ok, this one was a conversation started all night! Everyone had something to say about it and honestly, I had never seen so many people taking pictures of the Wedding Cake LOL. It was intended to be a focal point in the Reception so it was highlighted with a Pinspot light.

Thanks for Rosie from Elegant Temptations for bringing the design to life. To the surprise of many, it was a green buttercream cake decorated with pink flowers with a rhinestone middle and had rhinestone rimmed at the bottom of the tiers.

For the stand, the illusion that the Wedding Cake was seating on a garden of roses was created. The acrylic stand was filled with petals and these overflowed onto the table, sorrounding the Cake.

Party

DJ JP had everyone and I really mean all 90 guests on the dance floor most fo the night. He really hit the spot and played music for all ages and all genres. He definitely was a crowd pleaser when he played "Palo de Mayo" which is like Nicaraguan booty dance, per se. :) He did a great job with group participation for "The Crazy Hour" towards the end of the night. People were braking it down with Mardi Gra masks and beads for a while, with Carnival music and La Conga, etc...

I would personally like to thank each and everyone of the Professionals that were part of Mayda & Lester's Vendor team because they all went above and beyonf their duties. Not only as a Wedding Coordinator but also as a family member, I appreaciate all your hard work.

Stylish Events: How did you and Nicolas meet?
Harmoine: We technically met in middle school, but didn't actually start talking until the second semester of our Senior year of high school. Nicolas asked me to prom, which is what started everything.

S.E: A fun fact about yourselves?
H: Our first date was prom, which was a little weird, but ended up being a really fun night. At our after prom party we ended up getting a marriage license which expired after 30 seconds or 30 feet which ever came first. Kinda funny to think we are getting the real one now.

S.E: Tells us about the Proposal
H: Nicolas and I had been together for about 7 1/2 years and were talking about how the time felt right. He originally wanted to pick out a ring himself without me knowing, then decided there were so many rings out there and asked me to come with him. When we found my ring I knew right away but Nicolas wanted me to think about it over night to be sure. We went back the next day and a couple who was helped right before us bought the ring we wanted. They had to order another one and it came in later that week. He asked me to marry him right at the jewelery counter (really romantic).

S.E: What was your reaction?
H: I was so excited. This is something I had been waiting for and the timing could not have been more perfect. I could not have asked for a better person to spend the rest of my life with.

S.E: Why did you choose to have a Destination Wedding?
H: Nicolas and I have always wanted a destination wedding. I have personally always wanted a beach wedding after watching all those Elivs movies as a child. The hard part was deciding which destination to have our wedding. After going to South Beach, we knew it was perfect. The retro feel is so us.

S.E: How difficult has it been planning from Colorado?
H: It was really difficult when I was trying to plan without ever seeing South Beach or having a planner. After our visit to South Beach I had a better idea of what we wanted and where everything was. It was still hard at times to remember the layout or specific locations, but having someone there who could check into it for me was crucial. I could not have planned this wedding without Karla's help. She was pretty much my eyes down there.

S.E: What was the first thing you planned?
H: Other than choosing the location, the first thing I researched was the location for the reception. We fell in love with The Hotel online and more in love when I met the staff and saw Spire Lounge and it's breathtaking views. I also researched and booked our wedding planner the same day so I guess it was more of a tie between the two.

S.E: What has been your favorite check during the Planning Process?
H: Finding my wedding dress! I truly enjoyed trying on wedding gowns (although finding them in my price range was more difficult than I thought). I knew the moment I tried my dress on it was the one. It is a little more formal than I thought I would want for a beach wedding, but it is so me. It fit perfectly and only needed to be hemmed.

S.E: What has been your least favorite?
H: I think trying to get the permit for the beach ceremony. There is a lot of wait time, which I am not a very patient person. It was hard to book other vendors for the ceremony without knowing the exact location. We now have the perfect location with a permit so it worked out fine.

S.E: Finish this sentence:
H: "I can't wait til my Wedding Day...."
to marry my best friend in front of our closest friends and family. I can't wait to see Nicoals' face when I am walking down the aisle and know that this is the start of our lives together.

S.E: Give a piece of advice to recently engaged couples:
H: Enjoy the planning process and don't let the stress get to you. Don't forget that the end goal is to marry the love of your life. There is a lot of pressure to please everyone when you are planning a wedding, but remember that this wedding is to acknowledge the vow you two are making to each other. Enjoy every moment!

It has been great to work with Harmoine along the Planning process and being her eyes when booking vendors and making decisions. They have entrusted me to plan and prepare their Big Day and it has been a pleasure. Harmoine & Nicolas booked my first Destination Wedding and I am looking forward to their beautiful Wedding this Saturday.

{Weekend get-away}

Green Wedding Tips

Today is Earth Day and I'm happy to know that more eco-friendly ideas are being incorporated in Weddings now days. Your Wedding can still be stylish and chic but benefit the environment at the same time. I read an article on Simply Dazzling Events Blog about "101 Ways to Make a Wedding Eco-Chic".

Instead of posting the article, I decided to pick the best tips.
Here they are:

1. Have the Ceremony & Reception at the same location.
2.Create a wedding website, rather than using mailer inserts with your invitation.
3. Use a reply postcard, rather than a note card that needs an envelope.
4. Buy a pre-owned Wedding dress (saves you money too!)
5. Use your Grandma’s vintage veil. It can be your “something borrowed”.
6. Use recycled gold for your Wedding rings.
7. In lieu of a favor, give the money to a charity for a greener world.
8. Plant a tree in memory of your wedding day. Then, plant a tree together on every anniversary.

Other tips I can think of:

9. Make a "Menu Card" per table instead of placing one at every place setting.
10. Toss petals or blow bubbles at your Ceremony instead of rice or non-biodegradable products.
11. Try to make your Wedding items double-purpose such as Program Fans for the Ceremony and Favor placecards for the Reception.

Janette & Emerson's Beach Wedding

I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. I loved working with Janette and it was definitely meant to be. She had contacted me last year about her date but I was corresponding with another bride already so she went another way. Back in January of this year, she contacted me again because she was looking for a new DOC and I had released the date, so we met and had a great time chatting about her Wedding plans and other coincidences that connected us. Janette had also seen me at Sue & Bentley's Wedding back in December since she and Sue went to UF together.

The Ceremony took place at Plymouth Congregational Church in Coconut Grove at 2:00 pm on Saturday April 18th. Gil Sosa provided the personal flowers for Bride, Groom and Bridal Party as well as altar arrangements for the Church. Atfer the Cermemony, guests headed to a private property in the Florida Keys; the drive was almost 2 hours long, but so worth it! The property sits on the beachfront in Tavernier Key and has a long Pier that made for beautiful pictures.

Janette & Emerson wanted to have a fun and relaxed Reception and this was the perfect place. We arrived early to begin the transformation from a residential property into an Elegant Beach Reception. Even though we had a perfect weather, we faced a predictable challenge with the unbearabe wind. It was knocking everything off the tables but fortuntely the intensity decreased as the hours went by. Paella Party caterered the event and brought all tables, white padded chairs and glassware.

Janette rented the green crinkle tablecloths from ABCovers Designers and Emerson was in charge of all their Wedding paper goods: Programs (Church), Menus, and Table numbers. He did an amazing job!

The Cocktail Hour was set-up in the entrance driveway of the property. They had "Mojitos" as their signature drink and the cute centerpieces were small bowls filled with shells and a green floating candle. Paella Party had a tower display of fruit and cheeses that everyone raved about.

A E-pic enlargement welcomed the guests next to the Sign-in table. The Escort cards were tied with blue organza ribbon to a white sea star to follow the beach theme and a white basket with parasols was also displayed. The Centerpieces were beautiful white orchid plants. The favors were chocolate bars in matching green or blue bags and small wine bottles. Cake was made by Divine Delicacies and music was provided by DJ Stephen.

The Bride & Groom had prepared a surprise by taking dance lessons for a choreographed First dance. They had all guests cheering them up and loving it! After the Father and Mother dance, the 3 Maids of Honor gave their heart-felt speech and got the bride and some guests teary eyed as well as some laughs. The 3 Best Men gave their speech towards the end of Dinner. Paella Party cooked on site and everyone raved how delicious it was.

As soon as the party music played, the dance floor was packed all night long! We even had to move some tables around because apparently the dance area was not big enough :).

Janette & Emerson will go on a 20-day Honeymoon soon. I hope you guys have a great time. It was an amazing experience to be part of your Big Day!

Jenise & Ralph's Wedding

Jenise & Ralph were the Contest winners of our End-of-year Giveaway in December 2008. Their entry stood out right away not only because they are a lovely couple with an interesting Love story but also because they live in California and I knew they would really use my help for the Day Of.

I met Jenise, her mom and Ralph's mom at Jungle Island for our walk-through when she visited Miami in late January. We connected immediately and were corresponding at all times from there on. There had been some issues and several changes with the Venue that made Jenise feel less than confident. I made sure I knew as much as possible about their Wedding plans to be ready to make decisions.

Jenise & Ralph planned for a beautiful Tropical themed Wedding with an outdoor Ceremony followed by an outdoor Reception in Lakeside Cafe Terrace. Since Miami's weather is totally unpredictable, we had a back-up plan that I wanted to leave just as that. We were hoping for perfect weather but it rained on and off the Day of the Wedding so the back-up plan had to be implemented.

The Ceremony took place in the Arboretum Ballroom and best efforts were made to make it look as nice as possible since its original location -The Lover's Perch- was surrounded by beautiful scenery of all kinds of trees and a nice waterfall.

Harpist Deborah Fleisher was hired for the Ceremony and Officiant Eddie Rodriguez pronounced Jenise & Ralph Husband and Wife. After the Ceremony, guests were guided downstairs to the Cocktail Hour right outside Jungle Island's Cafe.

Dj Steven from Vision DJ's played some lounge music while guests mingled and enjoyed some hor d'oeuvres and cold drinks on the covered terrace. A DIY Cardbox was displayed on the Gift table along with floral arrangements also made by the Bride. The Cocktail tables centerpieces were cylinders filled with mini white orchids and a floating candle.

Jenise & Ralph took some pics around Jungle Island and then joined their guests for the last 15 minutes of the Cocktail. Inside the Cafe, the Reception was set-up and the surroundings were camouflaged by lots of plants rented by Jungle Island. As soon as guests walked in, they found the Sign-in Guestbook with Engagements pics of the couple and their Escort cards. These were made with frames painted in the colors of the Wedding.

The tables had turquoise crinkled overlays provided by the Bride and silver charger plates. The Centerpieces were DIYed by the Bride and her mom with elegant callas in small cylinders decorated with raffia. The favors were pastries baked by the Bride (she rocks!) in green favor bags with blue ribbons. On the place settings, little Photo share cards were displayed for guests to upload their pics of the night and share with the newlyweds online. The buttercream Cake was made by Edda's and decorated with mini green orchids.

Jenise & Ralph did not want any formal introductions, so they entered the Reception along with their guests and as soon as everyone was seated the DJ called them to the dance floor for their First Dance. Then, Jenise dance with her dad and Ralph with his mom at the same time.

After the dances, it was time for the Toasts. Ralph's sister and Maid of Honor gave her speech first followed by Jenise's brother and Best Man, who had everyone laughing. Dinner was served right after and took longer than estimated but the DJ hit it off with party music and guests were on the dance floor all night! Flip-flop baskets were brought out for comfort and guests were loving them. :)

I had a great time coordinating this Wedding and I'm glad that despite rain, everything still came out beautiful and most importantly Jenise, Ralph and their families really enjoyed themselves. Linda, mother of the bride, was great to work with!

Charlotte & Robert's Wedding

Charlotte & Robert were married on Sunday March 15th, 2009 at The Shane Center in Miami Beach. It was a beautiful day with perfect weather. The Ceremony took place at 5:00 pm on the Terrace overlooking the Creek.

The focal point consisted of a wooden huppah accented with curly willow branches and white orchids in the top decorated by Benny from Lazarus Flowers. The white garden padded chairs were provided by Hitched Event Rentals. These were set-up arched from the aisle to create a cozy feel for the Bride & Groom's Ceremony.

Charlotte looked stunning!!! Slim mermaid gown, chapel length veil and perfect Hair & Make-up. I'll never forget that when it was time for her to walk-down the aisle in the arm of her father, she was emotionally overhelmed and graciously broke down in tears ;) It was a real special moment she had been planning for quite a while.

They were pronnounced Husband and Wife by Officiant Cecilia Johson from Weddings by Cecilia and who I highly recommended to the couple. After the Ceremony, a short "Cocktail Hour" was held in the breezeway.

As guests entered the Ballroom, they were welcomed by a silver Manzanita Tree with hanging votives sorrounded by Escort Rocks displaying the name of the Guest on one side and the Table number on the other. The Reception was glowing! Dark silver pintuck Linens, Light silver Charger Plates, White napkins and silver Chiavari Chairs with white cushions made a contrast on the tables. The Centerpieces consisted of Hydrangeas, Calla lillies and Curly willow branches. The sparkly silver mirrow vases were purchased by the bride so guests were able to take them and they can be re-used for home decor.

The favors were alternated with scented candles in silver organza bags and personalized photo M&M's boxes. The table numbers were DIY cylinders displaying the respective number on velum paper and accented with black and white ribbon on top and bottom. The bride also DIY'd the Cardbox.

The Sweetheart table decor included 3 silver mirror candle holders in different heights and 2 cylinders with callas on the ends of the table. It was not overkilled with flowers but it looked really elegant. On the dance floor ceiling, hanged white paper lanterns along with white parasols.It have the Reception a chic loungy feel that Charlotte was going for. To compliment that she rented white lounge furniture (a sofa and 2 ottomans) from Hitched.

Amelia & Carmen Catering served delicious Cuban food and were also in charge of linens, chargers, glassware and Bar. The Cake was custom made by Jose Angel from Mr. Bees as per the bride's request based on a picture from a Bridal Magazine. It was enhanced with orange orchids. The amazing Devynn Bohn from DB Images took some great shots and Javier from My Treasure Videos filmed the event.

Music from Ceremony to Reception was provided by DJ Ubi and he had the guests dancing all night! Everyone was having fun and Charlotte danced the night away and was later joined by her husband. :)

And to think that if a few decisions wouldn't have been made, this Wedding could not have been as beautiful as it was. Charlotte & Robert initially had another Venue but the grass was greener for them on the other side. It was all worthy in the end and I'm glad I was a part of it! I wish you guys many happy years together. Thank you for having me. Your families are great!

Zahaira & Andy's Wedding

Zahaira & Andy were sent my way by one of Zahaira's closest friends and previous client of mine, Gladys {Thanks}. As soon as I met with them, I realized that Andy was a very involved and opinionated Groom (in a good way!). During the planning process, he was always thinking of even the small details and wanted to make sure their Wedding was the most fun one their guests had attended. Said and done...Their Wedding was a blast!!! =D

They were married on March 14th, 2009 at St. Francis de Sales in Miami Beach and then celebrated among 80+ guests at Jungle Island. Their Wedding colors were Tiffany Blue & Chocolate Brown. Zahaira and Andy incorporated their cultures into the Table numbers by naming cities from their countries of origin, Puerto Rico and Colombia. Gladys offered to help them with their paper goods; she designed and printed their Menus, Table numbers and Signs.

Their favors were cute little tins filled with tiffany blue & brown M&M's. The linens and chairs were provided by ABCover Designers and consisted of satin Tiffany Blue tablecloths and Chocolate Brown napkins along with magohany Chivari chairs and ivory cushions.

The Sign-in table displayed decorative frames serving as "Escort Cards", which were made by the Bride and Groom with metallic ivory cardstock and decorated with rhinestones. Their Photo guestbook was brought from the Cocktail Hour later and placed on the left side for guests to leave a message for the newlyweds.

Gil Sosa was in charge of the floral design from personal flowers for the Bride, Groom & Bridal Party to the Centerpieces, Sweetheart & Sign-in table. He did an amazing job with everything and his designs definitely added elegance to the Reception. The custom Cake was made by Ana Paz and inspired by a picture in a Bridal magazine. It took a lot of manual labor to create the detailed work on the white fondant base. It was gorgeous!

The Cocktial Hour took place in the Terrace by the Cafe overlooking the flamingos. The centerpieces were cylinders filled with blue-colored water and rocks with a floating candle. An unexpectd visitor was taken to the Cocktail Hour by Jungle Island: a kangaroo. Guests were loving it and lining up to take pictures.

Then guests were taken to the Ballroom and a night full of fun was instore for them. As soon as the Introdcutions were done, the Bride & Groom once again surprised their guests with a slideshow of pictures of them from when they were kids, through their relationship and trips, etc. Everyone LOVED it and there were smiles and tears everywhere. It was a very emotional moment!

Then it was time for the First Dance, followed by the Zahaira and her dad and last but not least, Andy danced with his mom. They hired a live band to ensure that their guests were on the dancefloor the whole night and they did not dissapoint. Marlon, the lead singer performed the best of latin songs from merengue to salsa to ballenato, which is a genre native of Colombia. When the band took a break, they had a DJ in charge of entertaining.

A Chocolate fountain was brought out at this point for a midnight snack.
Around 1 am, Andy's cousin wanted to do somethin special for the couple and brought masks and other accesories for the "Crazy Hour". The band hit it off with carnival music and the newlyweds were joined in the dancefloor by all the guests.

Overall, it was a very fun night and most importantly Zahaira & Andy had a blast. They are on their Honeymoon right now and I wish them a blessed marriage and many years of happiness together.

Elyse & David's Wedding

I met Elyse and David back in December of last year. They were both very laid back and I knew I'd love working with them because I love couples who are flexible and open to advice. They started sharing their Wedding Plans with me and talking about their beautiful venue in Boca. We definitely clicked right away and even though I had not coordinated a Wedding outside of Miami, I loved the idea of The Addison.

Elyse & David got married on March 7, 2009 at a afternoon Ceremony followed by a Reception, both at The Addison. I spoke to her in the morning to make sure she was doing okay and then headed to Boca. We arrived at 1:30 pm and immediately began transforming the room into Elyse's vision. As we placed the pintuck Chocolate Brown tablecloths, the Ballroom changed completely into a more elegant look. Stylish Events provided the silver Charger Plates to hold the pocket-folded napkin with the Dinner Menu.

Elyse DIYed her Table numbers with some really nice silver frames and she also stocked her Candy Buffet with chocolate covered Oreos (yum!) and other green candy such as jelly beans and M&M's. Personalized candy bags were displayed with the couple's name and Wedding date and served as favors.

The Ceremony took place on the Terrace overlooking the fountain. The white padded garden chairs were set-up with a personalized Program for each guest along with a Bubble wand to celebrate their Pronnouncement as Husband and Wife. After the Ceremony, guests would go right into the Cocktail Hour space by the fountain.

Elyse and David are a hot couple and needless to say, Elyse looked stunning gorgeous!!! Her mom is such a sweetheart and it was great to meet her and work closely with her on Wedding Day.

The Sign-in table displayed a Guestbook with the couple's favorite Engagment Pictures and the Escort cards were hanging with a green ribbon from a branch arrangement.

The Centerpieces consisted of Cylinder vases filled with green orchids and sorrounded by floating candles and some callas. It made for a truly romantic Reception filled with fun! The beautiful cake was made by Ana Paz and it had lemon filling to match the colors of the Wedding :).

Tracey Ahrendt took some amazing shots throughout the day. Javier from My Treasure Videos did not miss a minute; he was there with us even when the Bride & Groom were taking pics with their Family and Bridal party during Cocktail.Vision DJ's provided the Dance floor gobo and Entertainment.

Jen & Nelson's Sweet Wedding

Jennifer and Nelson's Wedding was Fabulous to say the least. They definitely had a Platinum Wedding and quoting Jen "it was much more than she envisioned"! Just as the couple themselves, their theme was "Love is Sweet" and boy did every detail carry out the theme throughout the room.

They said their vows in an incredible Outdoor Ceremony with an amazing view at The Westin Diplomat. They had a plexiglass Huppah decorated with pink flowers in the altar and the aisle decor consisted of glass cylinders with beautiful flower arrangements. I pesonally loved this Wedding because in case you haven't noticed yet, pink is my favorite color and this Wedding had pink accents all over.

The Cocktail Hour entrance was enhanced with draping to create a entrance and rigt inside, a table displayed Engagements pictures from the couple at a local fair by their photographer Melissa from Simply Captivating whose husband was in charge of the Video. A wish tree was also placed here and guests wrote special messages to the Newlyweds and then hung the cute little cards by their pink ribbon strings.

The Cocktail Hour tables centerpieces consisted of vases filled with hot pink bubble gum and a pink flower stem. These were a hit, needless to say by the end of the hour all the bubble gums were gone :) -Everyone has an inner child-.

Check this out. The Escort Cards were not merely cards as usual, they were pink lollipops with a round sticker indicating the name of the guest and their assigned table. These were displayed in different white and pink square vases decorated with a bed of tiny silk flowers to cover-up the foam.

The Wedding took over the whole Ballroom and the Decor was to dye for. Tiffany blue came into play for the decoration of the Reception. Ana from ABCovers brought beautiful tiffany blue linens and overlays, as well as white chiavari chairs with a crinkle pink cushion. She tied all the 200+ rose sashes in the back. Kudos to her as this took many hours of work.

Being a 1st grade teacher, Jen made sure that the kids felt important at her Wedding and she wanted them to have their own table named "V.I.K" (very important kids). This table had a paper tablecover on top of the linens and they had crayons and all other materials to have fun with. A mini-candy buffet was also set-up in this table and kids LOVED it. They were seated and entertained the whole time so this is a good idea for those of you who might worry about this.

Jen wanted the Reception to have a clup-type feel -modern and chic-. Lounge furniture was provided by Grace at The Invitation Stand who also set-up draping over the 2 furniture areas placed near the dance floor and did a great job on the draping in the entrance of the Cocktail Hour as well. The Huppah from the Ceremony was brought inside and placed over the Sweetheart Table; it made for a great focal point.

I'm sure all of you want to know about the gorgeous Centerpieces... These were made by Elsa from Elegant Bodas. The hanging crystal added glamour to the tables and when the pin-spot lighting was set-up, the room was glowing! The Cake was designed and made by Rosie from Elegant Temptations and my pics don't do it justice, it was even more beautiful than it looks. Not to mention how yummy it was.

Even the table numbers were white chocolate bars with the numbers drawn on it. I'm telling you this Wedding was perfectly detailed.

The pink uplighting, dance floor gobo and pin-spot lighting of the tables as well as the Entertainment was provided by DJ Ubi (one of his DJ's) and he did not disappoint. The dance floor was packed the whole time and guests really enjoyed themselves.

In one of the pics from the slideshow, you can see Jen's Matron of Honor, her beautiful sister Lauren giving her touching speech and whose Wedding was a dream and I had the pleasure of coordinating as well. Lauren, thanks for the sending your sister my way!

Jen & Nelson, hope you guys had a blast in your Honeymoon as you did in your Wedding. Thank you for entrusting me with all the Wedding details. It was an honor to be part of your Day. Congratulations!!!

Helen & Donald's Wedding: Part II

Back to blogging about this Beautiful Wedding...
This time around, I want to share with you some pictures that I took with my personal cam.

The Ceremony Decor consisted of an Arch provided by The Rusty Pelican with 2
side arrangements by Jorge Nevot. For music, Helen & Donald hired a guitarist
from Music For Anything to play at their Ceremony. Their Programs were DIY by both the bride and groom. I heard that Donald was in charge of tying the ribbons, and he did an amzing job! We took care of their Aisle Runner by tracing their Monogram on it and my hubby, Rod did an awesome job so a big shout out to him for that.

At Cocktail Hour, they had a Wish Bowl to be filled with rocks with written messages from their guests and also a Guestbook with their favorite Engagement Pictures provided by their photographer Gregory Paul. Her cute Placecards were ordered from Alaun by Design and had an original and modern design.

Since it was very windy for their Ceremony in the patio, the Unity Candle was done in the Foyer once all their guests had entered the Ballroom and they also signed their Marriage Certificate along with their witnesses there. It was a really nice moment for them and their families and it worked out much better that way.

The Pelican Ballroom at The Rusty Pelican looked gorgeous. With an intimate, cozy setting, the guests enjoyed the brethtaking view of Miami's Skyline. The tables were decorated with low Centerpieces in square vases provided by Jorget Nevot and sorrounded by square votives, which made for the modern look that Helen was going for.

Stylish Events provided the Gold Charger Plates and Helen & Donald had some nice Menus to be placed on top along with a personalized CD of their favorite songs. Every stationary from their Programs to Menus, to CD favors had their cool Monogram on it, I loved it!

They had their First Dance and then Helen danced with her uncle, and Donald with his mom. Dinner was served and then the Cake Cutting was announced and Donald was happy to hear one of his favorite rock songs play for that special moment. -Cake made by Lily from Edible Creations-. Then the party started and Helen did not leave the dance floor. She had lots of fun with her girlfriends and even though Donald claims not to be a big dancer, he joined them for a little bit. Hey, at least he tried!

Helen & Donald's Wedding

I'll begin by saying how much we loved coordinating this Wedding.

Helen & Donald are an amazing couple! The first time we met, we clicked right away. Helen is such sweet and down-to-earth person. Donald is from Nicaragua (and so am I) and deeply in love with Helen. :) Gotta love those grooms.

The Wedding was held in a venue that is very special to me, The Rusty Pelican. Everytime I'm there for an Event, I can't help but relive my own Wedding there only 9 months ago. Helen & Donald's beautiful Ceremony was held in the lower patio at sunset. The weather was perfect, not humid as usual in Miami but rather nice and chilly.

When we talked about the Ceremony, I told Helen that I've always disliked the layout that TRP uses for ceremonies there. Until now, nobody had been original enough to do it different -at least from all the ceremony pictures I've seen- and I had a better layout in mind. Given that the space is oddly disctributed, a perfect layout can not be accomplished but I came up with a more cozy and "normal" ceremony layout so that Helen & Donald's guests would feel like they were part of that special moment rather than feeling like they have been invited to a runway show, which is exactly what the other set-up feels like.

It was a very emotional ceremony. Helen was given away by her uncle who couldn't hold his tears when he saw her coming down the stairs. Donald, waiting at the end of the aisle was in tears as well as the majority of the guests which made for a magical moment filled with love.

I also want to acknowledge the awesome team of vendors that Helen & Donald hired for their Big Day. The incredibly talented Gregory Paul and wife, Heidi were in charge of Photography; Javier from My Treasure Video was a pleasure to work with and DJ Brit had the guests dancing all night. Even guests from the next door party wanted to come over, LOL! I'm serious; they actually asked Helen or Donald. That is how much fun this Wedding was.

Helen & Donald, we wish you lots of happiness and many love-filled years ahead. You have each other to count on and that is the biggest blessing one can have. Sue & Bentley's Asian Flare Wedding

Sue and Bentley's Wedding was very unique and full of tradition.
I absolutely love couples who incorporate their cultures into the
Wedding details because it makes it so much personal to them
and their families.

The Wedding took place at the Doral Resort and had
three different locations: one for the Ceremony,
one for the Cocktail Hour and one for the Reception.

THE CEREMONY

It had a beautiful view to the Golf Course and its lakes.
The room was filled with white padded chairs,
which had green orchid pews on the aisle.

We created a Focal Point with white columns
in 2 different sizes draped with sheer fabric and
4 gorgeous floral arrangements.

The crafty bride personalized the aisle runner
with their Monogram.

The Floral Arrangements:

The Chairs were set-up was split towards the back
because the Bridal Party would enter from the left side of
the room and the Bride would do a surprise entrance for
from a door in the back.

The guests were wowed! :)

The Reception Set-Up

We arrived really early to make sure everything
was set-up just as the Bride requested it and to
take care of all the Bride's DIY items.

Soon after we arrived, the Florist delivered
all Personal flowers for the Bride & Bridal
Party as well as the Reception's
Centerpieces.

Shortly after the Florist, ABCover Designers
arrived with the Elegant burgundy linens
the Bride chose for the tables.

THE TEA CEREMONY

In the Chinese culture, the Bride & Groom serve
tea to their parents and the elder members of
the Family.

This table and chairs were set-up for
this Chinese Wedding tradition
along with a Tea pot and Tea cups,
property of Sue's grandma.

Another personal touch to the Wedding was
this "Favor Wedding Cake" formed by
favor boxes in the shape of cake slices.
These were filled with chocolate.

It was really special for Sue because her
uncle brought it all the way from Hong-Kong,
carrying it in the plane for her.
This goes to proof that family is willing
to do anything just to make your Day
much more special.

The Place card table was set-up just outside
the Ballroom, decorated with orchid-filled cylinders,
an orchid plant and then the Ceremony arrangements
were brought to this table.

THE CAKE

Bride & Groom ordered custom made.

To add a wow effect to the Cake,
the stand was created by glass square
vases filled with orchids and LED lights.

The Head Table
In the Asian culture, the Bride & Groom sit
at the Head table with their parents and

elder members of the Family, in this case
Sue's grandma.

Their Wedding Colors were Burgundy & Gold
incorporating the Chinese culture (red & gold).

The Centerpieces were orchid plants.
They looked simply elegant, orchids
don't need much to look sophisticated.

The chairs had a burgundy cover with
an gold-accented organza sash.

The gold polyester napkins were folded
into a pocket to display the DIY Menu
and a gold orchid.

Sue came up with a great idea to give away
the Centerpieces to her Guests.

We hid a card under a randomly picked chair
at each table. At the end of the night,
whoever had the card owned the Centerpiece.

Sue wore a gorgeous white Wedding gown
for the Ceremony and after Dinner, she changed
into a red traditional Chinese dress and
Bentley wore a Chinese outfit as well.

Once they had changed, they did the Tea Ceremony.

After some dancing, it was time for the

Bouquet Toss. Sue did it differently as well!
I'm telling you this Wedding was very unique.
I loved it!

The single ladies sorrounded the Bride, anf started
spinning around her. She had her eyes closed and
when they stopped, whoever was in front of her,
got the Bouquet.

This is a great way of making your friends participate
without having to go "Bride-wars" like for
the Bouquet. :)

Then, it was time for Bentley to remove
the garter from his wife...

And toss it ...

They shared a Chinese last song with their guests.

Sue & Bentley, it was an honor to be part of such a Beautiful and unique Wedding.
You two make a great couple and we wish you the best for many years to come.

Jenise & Ralph met over 10 years ago here in Miami while they were lab partners in College. She admits to having a secret crush on him before being friends. ;) He asked her out 6 months after being great study partners and the rest is history. They moved out to California, where he proposed to her (after a few failed attempts) over her favorite Breakfast -made by him-.

These two have really proved to have "Chemistry" (literally after meeting in a college lab) and will tie the Knot this upcoming March 21st, 2009 in Jungle Island. They are planning a "Modern Tropical" Wedding and all the details are amazing.

I'd love to be a part of their Big Day and I look forward to this Beautiful Wedding.

S.E: What did you think of Donald when you met him?

Helen: On our first date, I thought he was so quiet and shy – little did I know!

S.E: Tell us 3 facts about yourselves

H: We’re dog people – completely!
We think we’re rock stars thanks to Rock Band. And we have completely opposite tastes in music – I love the classics and mellow music, Donald loves everything rock: hardcore, metal, punk – thankfully our tastes come together when it counts, like reception music!

S.E: How did you react when he proposed? Did you expect it?

H: I was straight out giddy! I don’t think there’s any better way to put it – I was grinning the entire rest of the night! I was expecting to get engaged soon, but I had no idea he would propose that day. He was very stealthy about getting help from my friends, too!

S.E: How long did you date before getting engaged?

H: 6 ½ years

S.E: Finish this sentence: I can't wait 'til my Wedding Day to...

H: ....be able to say, “Yeap, this is my husband,” and to see him in his tux for the first time as he sees me in my dress. Oh, and to see all those painstaking details come together, of course!

S.E: Give one piece of advice to recently engaged brides who are starting to plan their weddings.

H: There’s so much advice to give to new bride-to-be’s...I think my top piece of advice would be to surround yourself with positive people when [wisely!] choosing your bridal party...as you start planning early! It’s never too early! Specially for the DIY stuff. Okay, I think I made that a couple of pieces of advice in one run-on sentence ;]

Helen & Donald are this weekend's couple and I look forward to being part their Big Day! :)I love that they are a very laid back and unique couple and so will their Wedding be.

Laurel & Nick's Wedding- DIY all the way!!!

What a fun Wedding! :) Laurel is definitely the ultimate DIY bride. She did everything on her own, from the Centerpieces to the favors and it all looked beautiful.

We were there to set-up @ 9:00 a.m. We found a clean slate in the Jupiter Civic Center and with the help of Laurel and her friends, it was transformed into a Beautiful Wedding Reception with white lanterns, Xmas lights, and all the table decor. She had brown organza overlays on top of the white tablecloths.Her CP's were glass cylinders filled with water, shells, silk orchids and a floating candle on top of round mirrors and sorrounded by votives. Very romantic!

Her Ceremony was held on the beach right outside and the view was truly breathtaking. Laurel looked gorgeous!!! She was bursting with happiness, always had a smile and danced the whole night off with her friends and family.

Devynn from DB Images was in charge of the Photography. She got some amazing shots of the night and had all the guests posing for the "Photobooth" set-up in the reception, attended by her assistant.

Special thanks to Laurel's friend and bride-to-be Jessica, who also helped Setting up, throughout the Reception and during break-down. :)

Laurel & Nick, best wishes on your new journey together. I'm happy to know that you enjoyed every minute of your Wedding Day to the fullest. You two make a grat couple!

Stylish Events: How did you and Bentley meet?
Sue: Bentley and I met as friends while we were in middle school.

S.E: Where are you and Bentley from?
S: I'm born and raised in Miami and Bentley's from Indonesia

S.E: Did you have to adjust to each other's culture?
S: No adjustment needed as we both share the same culture

S.E: How long did you date before getting engaged?
S: 14 years

S.E: Describe the proposal.

S: Bentley informed me that a good friend was visiting town with his girlfriend and wanted to meet up for dinner. I work in downtown Miami and was on my way to pick up Bentley to head up to Ft. Lauderdale.

Then he calls me to tell me he was already there in the hotel hanging out with his friend. I was mad...told him I'm not rushing up there in the midst of south Florida rush hour. He asked nicely and I continued on my way.

I called him when I got to the Hyatt Pier 66. He tells me to come up to room # (I forgot the room #) since he was busy watching the football game with his friend. I was furious by now after battling the horrific south Florida traffic to get there. As I approached the room I could hear Bentley's voice thru the cracked door (you think I should have figured it by now). I knocked and pushed the door open and there he was at the end of a trail of rose petals on one knee. The silly guy couldn't find loose rose petals, so he hand-plucked each petal. He also learned to fold bath towels into 2 swans kissing.

Of course I said yes.

S.E: What was the first thing you planned for the Wedding?
S: It toook the longest time to decide on a date

S.E: Favorite aspect of planning?
S: I love it all. Meeting my share of great people along the way has been a blessing to us.

S.E: Least favorite?
S: The cost associated with it.

S.E: Give one piece of advice to recently engaged brides who are starting to plan their weddings:
S: I definitely would recommend having Karla as your planner. She is great to work with. She goes beyond the call of duty and much more. Having her help with this wedding was the best thing decision that we made.

Lauren & J.C. {A Fairytale Wedding }

Ok!Ok! So I know I've taken forever to post about this Gorgeous Wedding but I've been super busy since I got back from my trip (that's what happens when you're gone for a week in this business). But to make it up I'm gonna blog about it with lots of pics - so much to tell!

November 29th, 2008 was a Perfect Day!

I wouldn't describe it otherwise. To begin with, we couldn't have asked for better weather. I went very early in the morning to The Four Seasons and met the beautiful bride to pick up the Pastelitos she was going to give her guests as a "Midnight Snack". She had been up all night along with her MOH's assembling the boxes and stuffing them with the yummy cuban treats. In the end, a bride always wants to make sure everything is perfect for her Big Day. And it was.

Lauren & J.C. had a Wine themed Wedding and everything was perfectly coordinated. It made it so personal and special to them.

THE SET-UP

We arrived at The Rusty Pelican to set-up all the DIY items and other details.
After the linens were set-up, we began placing all the table numbers.

The table numbers (made by the bride) were Wine bottles.

These beautiful copper chargers accented the tables
and still made room for 10 people.

The Menus (also made by the bride) which displayed their monogram
had a copper metallic backing that complimented the chargers.

Then on to the favors...

The favors were wine bottle stoppers
in brown organza bags with a "Thank you"
tag attached.

The Sign-in Table

The DIY Unity Candle was placed on
the right side.

On the right side, the bride & groom
displayed 3 of their favorite E-pics.

On the left side, their original sign-in idea.
Guests signed wine bottles with copper metallic pens.
Lauren & J.C. will drink these bottles on each anniversary.
I loved the idea! =)

The placecards were held by corks.
Everyone liked them!

THE CEREMONY

After setting up all the DIY items and other details at The Rusty Pelican, I headed off to St. Agnes Catholic Church in Key Biscayne. Beautiful Church! There were 2 white & green but gorgeous [lauren ;)] arrangements in the altar and green pomanders all along the aisle.

Guests started arriving very early. This came as a surprise since brides are usually worried that guests won't make it on time for the Ceremony but not this crowd. :) When everyone was already settled inside, the bridal party and the bride's limo arrived.

Wow! When I saw Lauren.... stunning!!!! She looked so glamorous, radiant and just happy! Then I knew that she would enjoy every single moment to the fullest and make that day unforgettable.

We got the processional ready and once everyone stood up for her entrance, Lauren made her way down the aisle with a very emotional and loving Father. It was so sweet!

THE COCKTAIL HOUR

Back at the Rusty Pelican, everything was ready for the Cocktail Hour & Reception.
The Cocktail Hour centerpiece were also made by the crafty Lauren.

They were cylinders filled with green grapes, water and a floating candles.
The cylinders had the couple's monogram wrapped with a brown ribbon.

THE RECEPTION

Inside the Ballroom, the Decor was amazing!
Ana from ABCovers did such a great job, the beautiful Centerpieces were provided by Elsa from Elegant Bodas and the lighting by DJ Ubi just completed the whole look.

The GOBO on the dancefloor made such an impact
when you walked in.

After the introductions were made, it was time for the
new Mr. & Mrs. to share their first dance.

THE CAKE

This one sure deserves its own section.
That cake was definitely a piece of art created by Rosie
from Elegant Temptations.

The design was so original and creative!

The stand was created with plexiglass and had

wine bottle corks inside.

It looked gorgeous.

The topper - a wine bottle in a bucket.

Lauren and J.C. - It was a pleasure to be part of such an amazing day.
I'm glad that you enjoyed it to the fullest and now cherish great memories!
I wish you the best on the many years to come.

Out Of Town

Hi everyone! I bet you're wondering why I've been MIA for a whole week -neglecting the blog and all. For those of you who didn't know, I was out of town since December 1st until yesterday. I was visiting my beautfiul country, Nicaragua. :)

I really planned to post it here and let all my blog readers know before I left but I got so busy I didn't even have time to do that. =/

Anyways, I'm back! and will be answering e-mails today and tomorrow.

Gladys & Alex's Wedding: Revisited

In the Sneak Peak article, I said I would go back and blog about this beautiful Wedding with all the details and lots of pictures. I just didn't want to do it while the new Mr. & Mrs. were still in their Honeymoon because I know they have not been able to see all the pictures.

Behind the Scenes
You always get to see the "pretty" pictures of how everything turned out.
I thought it would be cool if I shared with you pictures from the Set-up process.
This is what it took to achieve the final look that Gladys wanted.

It started early ...

and little by little the rectangular tables were set up ...

Gladys didn't want a traditional set-up so the tables
were arranged perpendicular (in set of twos)

Then on to the terrace ...

to get the Cocktail Hour space ready

Cocktail Hour

Theme: "Garden"

CP's: White Lanterns with Green Votives sorrounded by rocks
(very earthy)

There were the usual hightops

and low tables for elder guests

Sign-In Table

It was set up in the Entrance hallway with the Escort cards on the left and the Memory candles and Guest Photobook on the right.

The Escort cards were these cute chairs filled
with almonds and wrapped with a pink ribbon.
The Sign read "Please take a seat".

Gladys' "11-15-08" sign so famous from her E-pics
was also incorporated and displayed in the Sign-in Table.

The Memory candles were decorated with roses as well.
I'm sure Gladys' dad was with her the whole day in spirit.

Reception

And back to the Banyan Room to get the final look for the Reception.

Votives, Bathroom baskets, table numbers, etc.

Airwick scenter for the Bathrooms =)

The tablecloths were Chocolate Brown with
Douppioni Satin overlays in the same color

The white square plates gave the Reception
a modern touch

Gladys and her mom (Gladys) DIY'd the cutest Cardbox-
wrapped with 3 different patterns, pink & brown ribbon,
and flowers on top.

The Sweetheart table was decorated with 5 white small
vases (provided by Gladys) filled with pink roses
and lit up with flourish pink votives (provided by Gladys).

It looked gorgeous!

The table CP's were a round arrangement full of pink roses
in round white vases (provided by Gladys).

Gladys wanted the Centerpieces to be beautiful, simple yet
elegant and specially easy for her guests to take home.
Everyone complimented them and they were quickly
gone by the end of the night.

These made the room look much more romantic.

Each place setting had a DIY Menu
-beautifully accentuated with a pink ribbon-
tucked into the ivory napkin and the DIY favors
-pink boxes tied with brown ribbon- on top.

Once the Reception started, the Bridal Party was introduced
as well as the new Mr. & Mrs.

And they shared their first dance ...

In the middle of the celebration,
the Candy Buffett was set up by Nani in the Hallway
(after the Escort Cards were taken).

Beautiful!

The Candy Buffet Sign was summerged in water...
It looked so cool!

Look at how creatively the pink bags were displayed.

She also had the white "L-O-V-E" trays.

Needless to say, the guests loved it!!!

And they kept celebrating.

The Dancefloor was always packed - thanks to DJ Evi-
and everyone enjoyed themselves very much!

Specially Gladys, she danced all night!

It was an honor to be a part of this unforgettable Day!

All the details were planned by Gladys & Alex to perfection

Sneak Peak: Gladys & Alex Wedding

I know a lot of you are antipating news from Gladys & Alex Wedding yesterday. I thought I'd at least let you peak at a couple of pictures and blog about it later (with plenty of pictures).

Here are a couple of shots (from my camera). Everything looked beautiful! The flowers were amazing, the cake was delicious.

The bride and groom loved the end results. Their guests were complimenting all the decor, the music and how the event was organized.

Gladys is this weekend's bride. She is only one day away and I can't believe how fast time goes by. When I first met her I was still planning my own wedding and hers was a few months away. Now, her day has finally arrived.

Her Rehearsal was yesterday at St. Francis de Sales -beautiful location- and then everyone headed off to the Rehearsal dinner at Casola's. It was just what Gladys wanted, a laid back type of dinner where everyone talked and had fun. She also had a very nice surprise for Alex; it was a box of Star Wars cupcakes (he is a fan), and he loved it!

Gladys: My hubby and I enjoyed ourselves yesterday, thank you for having us, the food was yummy! And again, thank you! -I'm in love with it!- =). Your Wedding will be amazing, you have planned everything to perfection and rest assured it will be more than what you envisioned. Relax! Have fun and enjoy every single minute of the anticipation and all the mixed feelings that come with it. Those make for great memories!

About the Florida Marriage License

Out of the many To-do things brides have on their Checklist, one that can get them confused/frustrated is the Marriage License process. You don't know what the requirements are, when you have to get it, where do you apply, and the FAQ's go on and on. Well, let me tell you it's pretty easy!

Here's the 411:

1. A marriage license fee varies from $88.50 to $113.50, depending on which county court house you visit. (A discount of $32.50 is offered to couples who complete a 4-hour premarital counseling course).

Payment for the marriage license can be made with cash, money order, Visa, or MasterCard. No personal checks are accepted.

2. Both the bride and groom are required to be present when license is issued.

3. One Picture ID required with applican't picture, signature and brith date (state driver license, passport, Alien Registration card, State ID). All US citizens and residents must provide a Social Security Card.

4. The marriage license is valid for 60 days from its effective date.

5. If divorced, you must know the date the divorce became final. Some counties require a certified copy of the Final Judgment of Dissolution. (Check with the Clerk of Court in the county you are applying for a marriage license). If widowed, date of death is requested.

6. There is a 3-day waiting period for Florida residents after issuance of the marriage license. For example, if you are getting married on a Saturday, you must obtain the marriage license before the prior Wednesday for it to be valid.

There is no waiting period for couples who fulfilled the 4-hour preparation course.

Couples who reside in another state or country, and come to Florida to get married, are also exempt from this provision.

7. The marriage license can be obtained from any of the 67 counties in Florida and still be valid anywhere within the state.

Hope this helps clear some of the questions that may arise regarding this procedure.

Stylish Events: How did you and J.C. meet?

Lauren : J.C. and I met at Club Menage on South Beach in 2003. He asked me to dance and he's been my only dancing partner ever since!

S.E. : When was your first official date?

L: August 28, 2003 (1 week after we first met). We went to the movies at CocoWalk to watch American Wedding.

S.E. : Mention 3 things you have in common:

L: We are both ambitious, stubborn and sometimes too passionate.

S.E. : When/How did you know he has THE one?

L: I took a trip up to New York City with my mom and some friends. At the time J.C. was going to college and playing baseball in New Jersey. While I was visiting NYC, J.C. took the train to see me each and every night. He would stay up with me all night talking and leave before the sun came up to take the train and be back in New Jersey in time for his 6am workouts and class. The last night as I watched him from the hotel window walking towards Penn Station to get the train, I got the feeling he could be the one.

S.E. : What was your reaction when he proposed?

L: "What are you doing? What are you doing?" Those were my first words as he started bending down to get on his knee. Then, of course, I finally said yes!

S.E. : Favorite aspect of planning?

L: J.C. will probably say the cake tasting but I would have to say it was finally finding my dress. I had nearly given up hope that "she" was out there, but the moment I saw it, I knew that would be the dress I would get married in... never mind the fact I had already bought a dress :) J.C. and I also really enjoyed the marriage preparation we did with a couple from the church. We highly recommend this for all couples!

S.E. : What do you look forward to the most in on your Wedding Day?

L: I am most looking forward to seeing J.C.'s face when the church doors open and hearing him recite his vows.

S.E. : Give one piece of advice to recently engaged brides who are starting to plan their weddings.

L: Enjoy every second of your engagement and include your fiance as much as you can.

Lauren and J.C. will be toasting to many years of happiness together and I'm
honored to be a part of their Big Day. I've had nothing but a great experience

Stylish Events: How did you and Alex meet?

Gladys: We met on a dating site http://www.match.com/ . I am proud to say that he found me! He winked at me and I winked back, we talked for a few weeks, and then decided to meet. Our first date felt like we knew each other already, and we did, since we had lots of conversations before meeting face-to-face.

S.E. : Tell us 3 facts about yourself

G: 1. I love Italian Food.

2. My favorite hobby at the time is looking at wedding websites and blogs.

3. I surround myself with the most amazing group of friends.

S.E. : Describe the proposal

G: Alex took me to a steakhouse to celebrate our 3rd year anniversary, he gave me a little bag after we had dinner, I opened it and got out a picture frame, saw it quickly and put it back (thinking why did he give me a picture frame).

When he saw my face, he said, there's something else, and I took out a little black box - then he said look at the picture frame... and the picture frame had two hearts with the words Mr. & Mrs. - he looked at me and said, well "Will you marry me?" - and of course I said Yes!!!

S.E. : How long did you date before getting engaged?
G: We dated for 3 years, Alex proposed on our 3 year anniversary, on January 7th, 2007

S.E. : What was the first thing you planned for the Wedding?
G: I looked for a reception venue and church right away..I wanted to make sure that we got what we really wanted.

S.E. : Finish this sentence -> I can't wait 'til my Wedding Day to ....
G: See Alex's face when he sees me walking down the aisle.

S. E. : Give one piece of advice to recently engaged brides who are starting to plan their weddings.

G: It's never too early to start planning, that way you can take time to meet with different vendors and make the best decision...and of course HIRE KARLA - the best gift you can give yourself!!!

Gladys and Alex make a great couple! It has been a true pleasure to work with Gladys; she's definitely gonna make a gorgeous bride. {I can't wait 'til your Wedding Day =) }

Doesn't this picture makes you laugh hysterically?

Well, it's true. Brides usually get all the spotlight on Wedding Day but the groom deserves some acknowledment too. Truth is, if it wasn't for him getting on his knee with the gorgeous rock you are in love with, there would be no planning - no Wedding at all. Let's give the guy some credit.

To make him a part of your special day, try to get him involved in the aspects of planning they enjoy such as picking his Attire, selecting a DJ, deciding on the type of Transportation and booking your Honeymoon.

And on Wedding Day make sure you capture his emotions as well. Your photographer can do a photo session to include getting-ready shots and some individual portraits. Here are some examples...

Keep in mind that this day is really about you two and the love you have for each other. In the end, this is the guy that will be anxiously waiting for you at the end of the aisle, and who you will be spending the rest of your life with.

Just as I promised, here it is....The Stylish Events Website! It had been under construction and it's finally ready. I'm thrilled with the results! =)
